Steam Deck OLED Unveiled

Elevating Portable Gaming to New Heights

Valve has announced the launch of the Steam Deck OLED, a groundbreaking addition to its handheld gaming device lineup. Packed with upgraded features, the Steam Deck OLED promises a superior gaming experience with a high dynamic range (HDR) OLED display, improved battery life, faster downloads, and more.

Brighter, Sharper, and More Vivid

The standout feature of the Steam Deck OLED is its 7.4-inch HDR OLED display. Designed specifically for gaming, the display offers striking contrast, brilliant clarity, and a larger picture. The HDR OLED technology delivers brighter colors, deeper blacks, and outstanding motion rendition, providing gamers with a visually immersive experience.

Extended Gameplay

One of the most significant upgrades is the enhanced battery life of the Steam Deck OLED. With 30-50% more battery life, Valve has managed to fit a larger battery into the device, and the OLED display itself draws less power. Coupled with an updated, more efficient AMD APU, gamers can enjoy extended gaming sessions without worrying about running out of power.

Faster Downloads and Stable Online Play

The Steam Deck OLED comes equipped with Wi-Fi 6E, offering increased bandwidth and lower latency. This translates to faster downloads, up to three times faster than previous models, and a more stable online gaming experience.

Sleeker and Lighter Design

Thanks to a bigger fan and updated thermals, the Steam Deck OLED runs cooler. The device is also approximately 5% lighter than its LCD counterpart, weighing in at 640 grams. The lighter design, coupled with the OLED screen, makes it an even more attractive option for on-the-go gaming.

Diverse Options for Every Gamer

Valve is releasing the Steam Deck OLED in three configurations: 512GB, 1TB, and a limited edition 1TB variant with a unique colorway. The limited edition model will be available exclusively in the United States and Canada, and quantities are highly limited.

Pricing and Availability

The Steam Deck OLED is set to launch on November 16 at 10 am Pacific. The pricing starts at £479.00 for the 512GB model, with the limited edition priced at £569.00. Valve has also announced permanent price drops for the 64GB and 512GB LCD models, making the Steam Deck more accessible to a broader audience.

Phasing Out Older Models

In conjunction with the Steam Deck OLED launch, Valve is phasing out the 64GB and 512GB Steam Deck LCD models. These models are now available at permanently discounted prices while supplies last.

Global Availability

The Steam Deck, including the new OLED variant, is available for purchase in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong through Komodo’s website.

Certified Refurbished and Accessories

For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, Valve is offering certified refurbished Steam Decks at up to 20% off with a one-year warranty. Additionally, the Steam Deck Docking Station is available for purchase, providing users with the ability to connect their Steam Deck to external displays, wired networking, USB peripherals, and power.

Elevating PC Gaming on the Go

The Steam Deck OLED not only brings improvements to display technology and battery life but also solidifies Valve’s commitment to providing a diverse range of options for gamers. With its powerful hardware, portable design, and now enhanced OLED display, the Steam Deck continues to redefine the handheld gaming experience.
