Somewhat recently, I talked about how I had gotten back into Overwatch 2. I am still playing and still having fun with that game, despite not spending a penny and just playing all kinds of different matches here and there. I would happily pay full AAA price for this game, but I am not into the whole season pass deal. If you go a little further back, I also discussed My Top 5 Transformers video games and talked about what a big fan of the franchise I am. Well in a collaboration I never saw coming or even thought about, Transformers and Overwatch are coming together.
We kind of got a hint at this not too long ago, but Blizzard and Hasbro have dropped a trailer as well as a comic and this is such a fun collaboration. The trailer is epic and whenever we get these Overwatch cinematic things, it always makes me wish that they would just do a series, a movie, or perhaps give us that single player story mode they said they would many years ago. This is one of the coolest trailers I have seen so far this year and I must admit, I am going to find it rather hard not throwing my money at Blizzard and Hasbro for these.
First up we have Bastion. Bastion is going to be getting a Bumblebee style skin and he looks so freaking awesome. Although, the Transformers nerd in me thinks that Bastian would have been even cooler as Blitzwing due to Bastion being able to have three different forms. Next up we have Illari who is getting an Arcee-themed skin, out of all the skins that were shown in this trailer, Illari’s Arcee skin is the one that really caught me off guard by how much it actually looked like the Transformer it was depicting, I could easily believe that it was from an actual Transformers video game if I saw it without context.
We also have Megatron and Optimus Prime as well! Megatron is being played by Ramattra and it is a very cool and funky mashup that I feel at first glance is the most unique and visually striking of all the skins. Optimus Prime is played by Reinhardt and this is like Arcee where it feels like they tried to capture the actual look of the Transformer the best that they could.
Of course, the thing here is that these skins are very, very expensive. You could easily get a new game or a few cheaper games for the price of getting all these skins! Plus, I have to say I hate how we have to buy the stupid currency that is never enough, so you end up with leftover currency! It feels like a hassle if I am being honest with you! Why can they not just say, hey here is the Transformers skin pack, give us 20 bones and it is yours? That is fair, that is easy and I would be 100 percent happy to do that.
