Blade

Arkane Studios, under the umbrella of Bethesda, revealed their collaboration on a new video game featuring Marvel’s iconic vampire hunter, Blade. Marvel’s Blade is set to be a mature, single-player, third-person game unfolding in the enchanting backdrop of Paris, blending the gripping narrative of Eric Brooks, the Daywalker, caught between the realms of the living and the undead.

Blade, a character well-versed in the virtual realm since his debut in 1998, is no stranger to video games. This time, Arkane Lyon is taking the reins to craft an original narrative, steering clear of any specific Marvel Comics plot. The game’s likely mature rating was confirmed through a teaser trailer that captivated audiences during its unveiling.

Bethesda, renowned for its titles such as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Starfield, is no stranger to groundbreaking collaborations. The partnership with Arkane Lyon for Marvel’s Blade adds another layer to their diverse portfolio, promising a narrative-driven action title that stands apart from conventional superhero games.

As part of Marvel’s cinematic universe, Blade is not only making waves in the gaming world but is also set to return to the big screen in a movie starring Mahershala Ali, scheduled for release on November 7, 2025. Ali, having previously lent his voice to Blade in the 2021 MCU film Eternals, brings a compelling depth to the character.

The collaboration between Arkane Lyon and Bethesda for Marvel’s Blade is a creative fusion rooted in passion. Bill Rosemann, VP and Creative Director of Marvel Games, expressed excitement about the match, highlighting Arkane Lyon’s uncompromising artistry and bold vision for the half-human, half-vampire hero.

In a press release, Dinga Bakaba, Game Director at Arkane Lyon, shared a personal connection to Blade, emphasizing the team’s eagerness to put their unique spin on the character. Sebastien Mitton, Co-Creative and Art Director, sees the project as an opportunity to push Arkane’s art style into more modern and bold territory.

Marvel’s Blade promises an immersive experience as players take on the role of Eric Brooks, navigating a quarantined section of Paris during a supernatural emergency. With vampires terrorizing the city, players must become the champion of Paris, combating the undead one stake at a time. Although the game’s release date remains undisclosed, the anticipation for this collaboration between Arkane Lyon and Bethesda is palpable, as fans eagerly await the day they can step into Blade’s boots and embark on this extraordinary, bloodsucking, adventure.
